Want to know more about GOTS?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and focuses on ecology, sustainability, and social responsibility. As part of GOTS certification, there is a strong emphasis on the conditions of factory workers, and GOTS certification guarantees, among other things, safe and hygienic workplaces, no child labor, minimum wage, limited working hours, no discrimination, and the right to freely choose employment.
Being a GOTS-certified company means that we are authorised to use the GOTS trademark on selected products that meet the requirements for GOTS certification. GOTS is an organisation and a trademark that ensures good working conditions, products free from harmful chemicals, and environmentally friendly production. The GOTS trademark also guarantees that all stages of the value chain are approved, from the farmer who grows the cotton to the manufacturer and to us as a brand. You can view our GOTS certificate and learn more about GOTS here.
The decision has been made based on our desire to promote good working conditions, sustainable and organic materials and products. We aim to protect the environment and the people we collaborate with while offering consumers GOTS-certified baby and children's products.
It requires proper and rigorous management, sustainable and organic values within the company, as well as good and safe working conditions and products free from harmful chemicals. In order to maintain our GOTS certification, we must undergo annual re-certification and approval.
No. We produce all our cotton fabrics using 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, but a whole product can only be categorized as GOTS-certified when at least 70% of the product is made from our GOTS-certified fabric, such as our bedding. If it's a product like a changing pad where there is a pillow inside that makes up the majority of the product, you cannot categorize it as a GOTS-certified product, even if the fabric is still 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton.
This means that the product, at a minimum, consists of 70% GOTS-certified organic cotton and is created and produced within a value chain where all stages are GOTS-certified. Each individual production within this chain is managed and approved by GOTS collaborators. This process includes everything from the cotton itself, sourced from the cotton manufacturer, to the manufacturer that processes and shapes the cotton into our fabric, and then further to the textile factory that constructs and sews the products. Finally, it extends to us as the brand.
